Hemostasis LLC produce innovative, groundbreaking products in bleeding control and we are proud to offer their PosiSep products at Minim Healthcare.
PosiSep is a dissolvable intranasal splint for nasal or sinus surgery that minimises bleeding and edema. It's biocompatible, using naturally occurring chitosan-based polymers derived from deacetylated chitin which can help in the healing regeneration process.
The dressing offers easy placement and insertion, expanding on hydration to fit the nasal cavity before naturally dissolving over time with irrigation and aspiration as healing occurs. PosiSep requires no special storage or refrigeration.
A superb product for nasal surgery; if you would like to know more about the advantages of PosiSep, see our catalogue page or contact us for full details.
PosiSep X retains all the benefits of Chitosan technology that Hemostasis continuously works to improve, develop and innovate. It is recommended for use as a nasal hemostat to treat epistaxis.
Offering foam that conforms to any nasal anatomy with saline hydration and acting as an adjunct to the natural healing process, PosiSep X provides superior performance and patient comfort, expansion to a larger area if needed, and notably longer separation time for affected tissues and structures of between 7 to 10 days.
As with PosiSep, it also has the same key advantages of easy storage requements, ease of insertion in the nasal cavity, immediate expansion on irrigation and gradual, natural dissolution.

PosiSep and PosiSep X have the same method of expansion on hydration to protect and separate sinus tissues They differ in that PosiSep forms a smooth gel surface whereas PosiSep X provides extra expansion properties to fill in space.
PosiSep dressings are removed from their pouch maintaining sterile technique and may be cut or bent to appropriate size needed before being inserted into the area of treatment with forceps. It can then be hydrated using a sterile fluid to allow the foam to expand to suit the cavity.
Following this, as healing occurs, daily irrigation with fluid assists the beakdown and fragmentation of the dressing until it is naturally eliminated.
Full instructions and guidance for use are available on our supplier catalogue page.
Hemostasis is driven by innovation and collaboration in technologies that improve patient care and outcomes. Their continuous research and development includes evaluation from surgeons and scientists on the use and effectiveness of PosiSep products.
There are widely studied and published papers on the anti-adhesion properties of thses propriety technologies. Over a dozen studies appear on the Hemostasis website, primarily in connection with Chitosan, along with guidelines, warnings and instructions for use.
